Pastor Charles W. Radford is a man of:
Meet Pastor Radford
Pastor Charles W. Radford:
answered the call to preach and teach
the
Gospel of Jesus Christ in 1992. He has served as the pastor of the Fifth Ward
Missionary Baptist Church for over thirteen years. Pastor, his wife Kathy,
daughter Sha and son Justin are a close-knit family. On late summer afternoons,
Sister Kathy has been known to use her persuasion to get him to fire up the old
bar-b-que grill. Rumor has it that he grills a mean burger.
Pastor Radford is committed to faithfulness to
God's Word. He preaches, teaches (three Bible studies a week) and rejoices in
the truth of God's Word. A man of prayer, faced with many decisions, large or
small, he always says, " Let's pray about it."
~~A Heart for the Youth~~
Pastor
is very responsive to the needs of others, especially our youth. He is
uncompromising when it comes to our youth programs and Bible studies. With the
increasing number of teenagers and children from our community participates in
the Wednesdays evening's youth Bible studies and activities, he teaches that
many needs can be met through the community of faith found at Fifth Ward.
Pastor Radford believes God
has placed us right here (Franklin & 10th) for this community and especially
for our youth!
A note from our members
Proverbs 27:2
States, "let another man praise thee and not thine own mouth a stranger and not
thine own lips." I can truly do just that when it comes to our
Pastor,
Rev. Charles W. Radford. I have come to know him as a man after Gods own heart.
He not only teach and preach the infallible word of God, he also live by it with
no compromise and challenges all those who come under his tutelage to also live
a life that glorifies God. Second Timothy 4:2 States, "Preach the word be
prepared in season and out of season, correct, rebuke and encourage with great,
patience and careful instruction. And that is exactly what our pastor do for us
as a body of believers which in turn has caused us to trust God in all our
endeavors.
Rev. Radford is a man of integrity and he stands a foot above all those who has
come before him where this congregation is concerned. I have great respect and
love for my Pastor, because of him I can say with out a doubt that at the Fifth
Ward Missionary Baptist Church the Glory of God truly abides.

Sister Paulette Skinner
Our Pastor came
into our lives and our Church at a time when we were struggling and trying to
keep our Christian faith alive. For many years we had been deprived of
Christian education. Then, God sent us a young man filled with the Holy Spirit,
and full of Christian love and a teacher of the true Word of God.
We went into the inner closet of our Souls in secret with God and He openly
blessed us. It stands at the corner of 10th and Franklin Street, come by and
witness the proof of what fasting and prayer can do through the Holy Spirit.

Get to know our
First Lady - Sister Kathy Radford
Many people attend
our Church and expect to be able to identify who the First Lady is by the large
hat she is wearing, or that well put together outfit from head to toe, or
expects her to be playing the piano. Kathy, as so many of up refer to her, out
of love and respect, is very unassuming. She believes her first and most
important responsibility is to be a helpmeet to her husband.
She is his cheerleader, his nurse, his eyes and ears, She is the mother of his
children. Pastor relies heavily on her for many ministerial duties. She is like
his personal administrative assistant. She has a heart for the elderly and the
sick. While there are many gifts that She has been blessed with, She chooses to
work behind the scene.
If you can't find her within the congregation on Sunday morning, just listen for
the women on your left that calls to her husband, "Preach Charles"
Proverbs 31:11 - The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her so that he
will have no need of spoil.
